The Task: Improving the Safety of Highway 90
As part of the widening of Highway 90 and turning it into an advanced dual carriageway road with a variety of safety provisions for its users, the Company carried out paving works over a 23 km.-long section.
The work included earthmoving, renovating the old roadway with new infrastructure and asphalt layers, adding a safety barrier between lanes, constructing four culverts, and paving the full length. A dedicated asphalt plant was established near Be’er Ora for this project, supplying material up to the 54th kilometer, near Ramon Airport.
To protect the environment and local biodiversity, a bridge was built across Roded Creek, along with crossings for agricultural vehicles and a retaining wall to safeguard the "Land of the Lizards." All construction was conducted in coordination with the Nature and Parks Authority to preserve the landscape, trees, and creeks along the route.
