Infrastructures and Mega-Projects

The Ashtrom construction companies have vast experience in carrying out infrastructure projects and mega-projects in an exceptional range of fields:

  • Maritime transport—Ashtrom has been awarded the Haifa Bay Port Project (valued at NIS 4 billion) and started works on site, in collaboration with Shapir.

In the same field, a few years ago, Ashtrom completed the Eitan Port (Hayovel) in Ashdod and the Marina of Ashdod project just adjacent to it.

  • Land transport—The Ashtrom Group currently leads the project for the northern extension of Highway 20 (part of the Highway 531 Project). Ashtrom completed the Carmel Tunnels Project in 2010, together with its complex bridge structures. The Group has also erected a series of incremental launching bridges at the Glilot and Kibbutz Galuyot Junctions in Tel Aviv and the Kishon Junction in Haifa.

The Ashtrom Group owns asphalt plants, which work around the clock, and is responsible for laying large sections of Highway 6, Highway 4 and Highway 90 on the approach to Eilat.

  • Air transport—The Ashtrom Group is engaged in laying the runways at the new Timna Airport. Previously, the Group laid out the runways and aprons system at Ben Gurion Airport.
  • Rail—The Ashtrom Group has built the LRT (Light Rail Transit) infrastructures in Jerusalem along 14 km of an extremely busy urban environment. Ashtrom is currently completing the Israel Railways Netivot-Goral Project entailing a 30 km route with 15 bridges.

In such large-scale national projects, the Ashtrom Group makes full use of design and value engineering capabilities, as well as management and operational skills, supported by ample production facilities and supply chains, while carefully controlling budgets and adhering to schedules.
