Public Buildings

For several decades, the Ashtrom Group firms have been putting their expertise into practice in a wide range of public buildings, some of which have become recognized as architectural icons. For example, Ashtrom erected the Beer Sheba Government Complex, which was awarded an architectural prize for urban innovation in 2004 (architect: Ruth Lahav).

Public-sector projects completed by the Ashtrom Group include:

  • The Haifa Government Complex (known as the Rocket Tower), a unique structure with an imposing presence dominating the entire Lower Haifa cityscape.
  • In the hospitals sector, Ashtrom constructed the Schneider Pediatric Center, Petah Tikva, and the emergency room and laboratory buildings at Hadassah Medical Center, Ein Karem.
  • Ashtrom has built four court houses by the PFI method: the Lod District Court, and the Petah Tikva, Herzliyya and Ashkelon Magistrates Courts— with the Ashtrom Group as concessionaire responsible for their maintenance over the entire concession period.
  • The Smolarz Auditorium at Tel-Aviv University was built by Ashtrom.
  • Ashtrom built the Lachish Police Headquarters at Ashdod, as well as the Hasharon, Saharonim and Ofer prisons.
